Nimbus Film was established in 1993 by producers Birgitte Hald and Bo Ehrhardt, both graduated from The National Film School of Denmark with directors as Ole Christian Madsen, Thomas Vinterberg and Per Fly
Today Nimbus Film employs six more producers: Lars Bredo Rahbek, Maja Giese, Signe Leick Jensen, Stine Spang-Hansen, Anders Toft Andersen and junior producers Eva Jakobsen and Søren Green Nielsen. Nimbus has its home in Filmbyen next to Zentropa.
Nimbus Film works hard to be a continuous source of Scandinavian talent. Our essential goal is to create good, original stories with a universal appeal. We strongly believe in the “creative triangle” based on close and creative co-operation between director, scriptwriter and producer.
Since 1993 Nimbus Film has produced more than 40 feature films and a host of award winning shorts and has been the engine behind the DOGMA-movement together with Zentropa.
Among many other prizes Nimbus Film has won the Silver Bear Award in Berlin (MIFUNE and A SOAP) and the Jury Prize in Cannes (THE CELEBRATION). Nimbus Film has been both Oscar and Golden Globe nominated.
